Do I have to paint a whole army to play?
That depends on you and your gaming group. Some groups are more conventional in that they will only play on regulation tables with proper terrain and painted miniatures only. Other groups or individuals may find it reasonable to have small skirmishes or even whole battles with unpainted or semi-finished armies. This is up to you, and the group or groups that you can find in your area and wish to play with.
